Real patrons echo this sentiment passionately. Johnny Mo3 raves about the "little bursts of joy" in the mustard salmon, even surprising himself as a non-fan of mustard seeds. Laura Elswick highlights not just the food but the heartfelt accommodation from staff when dining with three dogs on a hot summer day – her Olive burger and fries remain unforgettable. Teresa Dube’s glowing praise for server Josh and the restaurant’s incredible bay views perfectly encapsulates the unique and welcoming vibe The Beacon exudes.
In sum, The Beacon is not merely a spot to eat—it is a destination to savor and relish. The mustard salmon was excellent, and i do not even like mustard or especially mustard seeds. But I liked them in this dish, they were like little bursts of joy in my mouth. The walleye was really good too we went back for a second visit.
We stumbled on this gem of a place. The menu is great, the food and service are excellent, and the view and ambiance is the best we found in Petoskey. We enjoyed Beacon’s Burrata Bruschetta pictured below.
Ok, lets start with Truman and Joshua. Exceptional service! The view is so great, the food is incredibly delicious! Must come! 5 star!
First time to Petoskey, end of June when it was in the 90’s, with 3 dogs, that’s right……3 hot pups. Had to sit outside and were hungry and hot, server was super nice, and the Olive burger and fries were amazing! Husband has a salad and enjoyed it all, thanks for being accommodating and having a great server and wonderful food!
Outside, looks like a quaint watering hole. Think small bar vibes. Upon entering you are greeted with a bunch of awesome boxing and ufc photos. After turning the corner, your eyes are flooded with the most incredible view of the bay! Our server, Josh, was phenomenal!! I was uncertain which entrée i wanted so I asked his personal opinion, to which he replied with the walleye. Thank you so much for the recommendation because it was pure bliss! My husband chose the steak frites and it was perfectly cooked and wonderfully seasoned! Throughout the entire meal, Josh was very prompt with checking in with us and getting another round. Bravo Beacon Bistro, Bravo Thank you for making our vacation in Petosky so very memorable
Had such a wonderful experience! Madison was an absolutely fantastic server — so friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. The view overlooking Little Traverse Bay was breathtaking, and the food was just as incredible. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Couldn’t have asked for a better dining experience. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!
Great lunch spot with a lake view. Madison was fantastic. Beet Salad, Burrata Sandwich and Salmon Kimchi Bowl were delicious.
First time here. It was happy hour! Half off drinks! Tried the whitefish spread too. So good!!! Great service! Will definitely go back.
